Pharmaceutical
In pharmaceutical service the surface matters more than the bulk. Ra values, weld profile, drainability and the absence of crevices determine whether a line can be cleaned and validated, and every component has to arrive with traceable certification. Purified water and WFI systems also see chloride concentration at heated surfaces, which is why 316L with a controlled electropolished finish is the baseline rather than 304.
