What is SS 202 sheet?

What to check on SS 202 sheet before and after delivery
Look at flatness and surface on arrival, in good light and at an angle, because finish defects on polished sheet are visible only that way. Deep drawing is poorer in 202 than in 304, so for deep-drawn utensils or sinks, confirm the forming operation with us first. Check the certificate chemistry.
Remember the grade's main limit: lower corrosion resistance than 304 and 316.

- The published finishes are No. 1, 2B, 2D, BA, No. 4, hairline, mirror (No. 8), matt and chequered. For polished finishes, ask for protective film so the surface survives handling.
- Is SS 202 sheet good for kitchen equipment?
- For dry, indoor kitchen furniture and equipment, yes. For surfaces in food contact or washdown with chloride cleaners, 304 or 316 is the safer specification.
- Can 202 sheet be deep drawn?
- It draws less well than 304, so shallow forming is fine but deep-drawn parts such as sinks and pans need checking. Send the part details and we advise.
