347 achieves the same stabilisation as 321 using niobium, which does not oxidise across the arc the way titanium does. That makes it the stabilised grade of choice where the weld itself must be stabilised rather than just the parent metal, and it carries somewhat higher elevated-temperature strength than 321.
Pitting resistance equivalent. Higher resists chlorides better.
Indexed to 304. Indicative, for specification triage.
Rajgranth Metal & Alloys manufactures, stocks, supplies and exports Stainless Steel 347 and 347H seamless Pipes (UNS S34700 / S34709) from Mumbai. Stabilised with niobium rather than titanium. Preferred where weld filler purity matters. Rajgranth Metal & Alloys has been trading since 1980, is self-funded and debt-free, and despatches most orders from its Mumbai stockyard within two days.

Stainless Steel 347 and 347H is also designated UNS S34700 / S34709, EN 1.4550 / 1.4912, AISI 347 / 347H, JIS SUS347 / SUS347H, GB S34778 and Werkstoff X6CrNiNb18-10 / X7CrNiNb18-10. Quote the designation your specification uses and we will supply to it.
Stabilisation survives the welding arc, unlike titanium, Higher creep strength than 321 at equivalent temperature and Well established in ASME pressure vessel service. It is non-magnetic, with excellent weldability and fair machinability, and is used in continuous service in air up to about 900 °C.
More expensive than 321 for equivalent performance in most duties and No improvement over 304 in chloride environments. We state these plainly so the grade is chosen for the right service.
