A tropical monsoon climate with high humidity and heavy rain, and salt exposure along the Gulf and Andaman coasts. Industrial zones on the Eastern Seaboard add chemical atmospheres.
Ferritic and austenitic grades both see use in automotive and appliance work. SS 202 suits indoor decorative and appliance parts; 304 and 316 cover food, chemical and coastal use.
SS 202 is widely used here for kitchenware, furniture, decorative tube, elevator and interior panels, and appliance parts, all indoor and dry-to-humid uses. For exposed, coastal or washdown service we recommend 304 or 316 instead, and we will say so.
Chromium-manganese-nickel austenitic grade. A lower-cost alternative to 304 for dry, indoor and decorative use. Every form is also available in SS 304, 316, duplex and nickel alloys.
