Malaysian Standards (MS) exist, but projects commonly specify ASTM, ASME, BS or EN, and oil and gas work follows operator and API requirements.
A hot, humid, equatorial climate with coastal salt on both sides of the peninsula. Palm oil and food plants add washdown with cleaning chemicals, which is hard on lower grades.
Food, palm oil and washdown service calls for 304L, 316L or duplex rather than 202. SS 202 is used for indoor furniture, decorative work and light fabrication.
SS 202 is widely used here for kitchenware, furniture, decorative tube, elevator and interior panels, and appliance parts, all indoor and dry-to-humid uses. For exposed, coastal or washdown service we recommend 304 or 316 instead, and we will say so.
Chromium-manganese-nickel austenitic grade. A lower-cost alternative to 304 for dry, indoor and decorative use. Every form is also available in SS 304, 316, duplex and nickel alloys.
State the grade, form, dimensions, quantity, standard and destination port. We will confirm availability and the Incoterm.
