Resistant in both oxidising and reducing environments, Outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice attack and SCC, Resists wet chlorine, hypochlorite and ferric chloride and Welds without post-weld heat treatment. It is non-magnetic, with good weldability and difficult machinability, and is used in continuous service in air up to about 1050 °C.
