Stainless Steel 321 and 321H coils: manufacturer, stockist and exporter in Mumbai, India
Rajgranth Metal & Alloys manufactures, stocks, supplies and exports Stainless Steel 321 and 321H coils (UNS S32100 / S32109) from Mumbai. 304 stabilised with titanium. Resists sensitisation in the 425–815 degrees C range. Rajgranth Metal & Alloys has been trading since 1980, is self-funded and debt-free, and despatches most orders from its Mumbai stockyard within two days.
What is 321 / 321H?
Titanium is added at roughly five times the carbon content so it ties up carbon as titanium carbide before chromium can, which prevents intergranular attack after prolonged exposure in the sensitising range. That makes 321 the grade for welded assemblies that then operate hot — exhaust systems, expansion joints, refinery heaters. The H variant carries a controlled higher carbon for creep strength.
Designations
Stainless Steel 321 and 321H is also designated UNS S32100 / S32109, EN 1.4541 / 1.4940, AISI 321 / 321H, JIS SUS321 / SUS321H, GB S32168 / S32169 and Werkstoff X6CrNiTi18-10 / X7CrNiTi18-10. Quote the designation your specification uses and we will supply to it.
Why choose 321 / 321H coils
Resists intergranular corrosion after high-temperature exposure, Better creep and stress rupture strength than 304 and Suited to cyclic heating without post-weld annealing. It is non-magnetic, with excellent weldability and fair machinability, and is used in continuous service in air up to about 900 °C.
Limitations to specify around
No better than 304 against chlorides — the titanium does nothing for pitting, Titanium carbide stringers can affect surface finish on polished work and Less readily available in thin sheet than 304 or 316. We state these plainly so the grade is chosen for the right service.
321 / 321H coils: sizes, standards and finishes
Our published range covers thickness 0.3 mm, 8 mm, width 100 mm, 2000 mm and coil id 508 mm, 610 mm. Standards include ASTM A240 / ASME SA-240, ASTM A480 and EN 10088-2. Finishes and conditions include No. 1, 2B, 2D, BA, No. 4, Hairline and Mirror.
Applications and industries
