Alloy 20 (Carpenter 20) is also designated UNS N08020, EN 2.4660, AISI Alloy 20 and Werkstoff NiCr20CuMo. Quote the designation your specification uses and we will supply to it.
Excellent resistance across the sulphuric acid concentration range, Niobium stabilised, so welds resist intergranular attack and Good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. It is non-magnetic, with good weldability and difficult machinability, and is used in continuous service in air up to about 500 °C.
Expensive, approaching nickel alloy pricing, Work hardens quickly and is demanding to machine and Limited availability outside held stock. We state these plainly so the grade is chosen for the right service.
