It is magnetic, with fair weldability and good machinability, and is used in continuous service in air up to about 815 °C.
Lower general corrosion resistance than austenitics, Poor low-temperature toughness — ductile to brittle transition, Limited weldability, with grain growth in the heat-affected zone and Restricted formability relative to 304. We state these plainly so the grade is chosen for the right service.
