What is Duplex 2205 tube?
Tube is specified by actual outside diameter and wall thickness, and covers thin walls and, in welded form, square and rectangular sections that pipe schedules do not reach. Duplex 2205 tube is bought for heat exchangers, instrumentation, process lines and structural and decorative work. Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205 and S31803, EN 1.4462) has a mixed austenitic and ferritic structure with 22 percent chromium, about 5 percent nickel and 3 percent molybdenum, plus nitrogen. It is about twice as strong as 316L and resists chloride pitting and stress corrosion cracking better.
