Stainless Steel 310 and 310S round Bars: manufacturer, stockist and exporter in Mumbai, India
Rajgranth Metal & Alloys manufactures, stocks, supplies and exports Stainless Steel 310 and 310S round Bars (UNS S31000 / S31008) from Mumbai. 25% chromium, 20% nickel. A heat-resisting grade, not a corrosion-resisting one. Rajgranth Metal & Alloys has been trading since 1980, is self-funded and debt-free, and despatches most orders from its Mumbai stockyard within two days.
What is 310 / 310S?
310 is specified for oxidation resistance at temperature, not for wet corrosion service. The high chromium forms a stable scale up to around 1150 degrees C in continuous service, which makes it the standard grade for furnace internals, radiant tubes and kiln components. It is not a chloride-resistant grade and should not be substituted for 316.
Designations
Stainless Steel 310 and 310S is also designated UNS S31000 / S31008, EN 1.4845, AISI 310 / 310S, JIS SUS310S, GB S31008 and Werkstoff X8CrNi25-21. Quote the designation your specification uses and we will supply to it.
Why choose 310 / 310S round Bars
Oxidation resistance to approximately 1150 degrees C continuous, Resists sulphidation better than lower-chromium austenitics and Good strength retention at temperature. It is non-magnetic, with good weldability and fair machinability, and is used in continuous service in air up to about 1150 °C.
Limitations to specify around
Embrittles through sigma phase formation on long exposure at 650–870 degrees C, Poor performance in aqueous chloride service despite high chromium and Significantly more expensive than 304. We state these plainly so the grade is chosen for the right service.
