What is SS 304L tube?
Tube is specified by actual outside diameter and wall thickness, and covers thin walls and, in welded form, square and rectangular sections that pipe schedules do not reach. SS 304L tube is bought for heat exchangers, instrumentation, process lines and structural and decorative work. SS 304L (UNS S30403, EN 1.4307) is the low-carbon version of 304, with 0.030 percent carbon at most. The lower carbon keeps chromium carbides from forming at the grain boundaries when thick sections are welded, so it keeps its corrosion resistance in the as-welded condition without a post-weld anneal.
