What is SS 904L tube?
Tube is specified by actual outside diameter and wall thickness, and covers thin walls and, in welded form, square and rectangular sections that pipe schedules do not reach. SS 904L tube is bought for heat exchangers, instrumentation, process lines and structural and decorative work. SS 904L (UNS N08904, EN 1.4539) is a super-austenitic stainless steel with 23 to 28 percent nickel, 4 to 5 percent molybdenum and added copper. The chemistry gives it far better resistance than 316L to sulphuric acid and to pitting and crevice corrosion in chlorides.
