Stainless steel welded pipes supplier and exporter in Malaysia.

Rajgranth Metal & Alloys exports welded pipes to Malaysia from Mumbai in SS 202, 304, 316, duplex and nickel alloy grades, shipped to Port Klang or Penang with an EN 10204 3.1 mill certificate. Typical buyers are process equipment builders, food and palm oil plant contractors, fabricators and distributors.

01Welded Pipes in Malaysia

What Malaysia buyers use welded pipes for.

Malaysian demand comes from oil and gas, palm oil processing, food and beverage, chemicals, the electronics and semiconductor cluster around Penang, and construction.

Environment and grade choice

A hot, humid, equatorial climate with coastal salt on both sides of the peninsula. Palm oil and food plants add washdown with cleaning chemicals, which is hard on lower grades. Food, palm oil and washdown service calls for 304L, 316L or duplex rather than 202. SS 202 is used for indoor furniture, decorative work and light fabrication.

Standards in Malaysia

Malaysian Standards (MS) exist, but projects commonly specify ASTM, ASME, BS or EN, and oil and gas work follows operator and API requirements. Buyers in the region typically order coils, sheets, welded pipe and tube in 202 and 304, polished or in 2B finish.

02SS 202 welded pipes

Welded Pipes: what to know before you order.

Welded pipe is formed from flat strip, seam-welded and then usually annealed or dressed. It is the economical route for larger diameters and for decorative and structural pipe, and it is the form in which SS 202 is most often bought.

Welded pipe is formed from strip and seam-welded, then solution annealed and pickled. For ambient and moderate-pressure duty — water, structural, food and general process lines — it delivers the same corrosion performance as seamless at materially lower cost, and is available in larger diameters.

Why buyers choose SS 202 here

  • On long runs and large diameters the weight of metal dominates the bill, so the lower price of 202 against 304 is felt most in pipe.
  • The higher annealed yield strength of 202 can allow a lighter wall in some structural designs, which is a design decision to be checked by the engineer, not assumed.
  • Pipe in 202 takes a bright polish, which suits exposed handrail, balustrade and display framing indoors.

Welded Pipes export to Malaysia: questions answered

Is SS 202 suitable for food processing in Malaysia?
Not where it is wetted by cleaning chemicals or salt. Use 304L or 316L for food contact and washdown, and keep 202 for indoor decorative and general fabrication.
Do you supply for oil and gas projects in Malaysia?
We supply stainless steel and nickel alloy in the forms and standards listed on this site. Operator specifications can be stricter than the commodity standard, so send them with your enquiry and we confirm what we can meet.
Is SS 202 pipe suitable for water or chemical service?
202 suits dry, indoor and mildly humid duty. It resists corrosion less well than 304 and 316, so it is not recommended for chloride-bearing water, coastal exposure or chemical process lines. For those, move to 316, duplex or a nickel alloy.
Should I buy welded or seamless 202 pipe?
Welded pipe is the usual choice for decorative and structural use, and is more economical. Seamless pipe has no weld seam and is chosen where a seam is unwanted or the design code asks for it. We list 202 in both; tell us the duty and we will suggest the right one.
How is welded pipes shipped to Malaysia?
By sea from Nhava Sheva (JNPT) or Mumbai to Port Klang or Penang. The quotation states the Incoterm and the named port, and quotations are typically returned the same working day. Call +91 79779 45282 or use the Request a Quote form.
