Round bar is solid feedstock, supplied in a stated delivery condition and tolerance class. In SS 202 it is bought for machined and turned parts in dry, indoor service, where the lower cost of 202 helps and the part will not see chlorides.

Bar is the feedstock for almost everything machined — shafts, valve internals, fasteners, fittings. What decides whether it is fit for the job is not the grade alone but the delivery condition and the tolerance class, which is why both are specified here up front rather than buried in a quotation.
